Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Odd Current Software handles information through websites, apps, and services that link to it.

Effective: July 14, 2026  ·  Last updated: July 14, 2026

Odd Current Software ("Odd Current," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy applies to Odd Current websites, applications, and related services that display or link to this policy. A product may provide an additional privacy notice when its data practices require more specific information. That product-specific notice will control if it conflicts with this general policy.

1. Information we may collect

Information you provide

Depending on the product or service, you may provide information such as:

Information collected through use

Some products may collect limited technical information needed to operate, secure, and improve the service, including device type, operating system, app version, approximate region, feature interactions, diagnostics, and crash information.

Permission-based information

Individual apps may request access to device capabilities such as location, microphone, camera, photos, Bluetooth, health or fitness data, contacts, notifications, or local network devices. An app requests these permissions only when they support a visible feature. You can review or withdraw device permissions through your operating-system settings.

Location and route information

Travel, tracking, safety, sport, and outdoor products may process precise or approximate location to provide maps, nearby results, route recording, group location, arrival estimates, trip planning, or location-based alerts. The app will identify when background location is required. Location retention and sharing depend on the feature you choose to use.

Audio, camera, and photos

Translation, communication, creative, and research features may process audio, photographs, or camera input. Where possible, products process this information on the device. When a cloud service is needed, the app or its product-specific notice will identify the purpose and relevant provider.

2. How we use information

We may use information to:

3. Sharing and service providers

We do not sell personal information. We may share limited information with service providers when necessary to deliver a feature, such as app distribution, authentication, cloud hosting, synchronization, maps, payments, analytics, crash reporting, translation, notifications, or customer support. The providers used differ by product and may include platform providers such as Apple and Google, as well as cloud and infrastructure services.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or security incidents, or complete a business reorganization or transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.

4. Public and user-directed sharing

Some features let you intentionally share information with other people or public networks. Examples may include group location, chat, trip plans, game activity, amateur-radio packets, or content exported from an app. Information you choose to share is governed by the settings and rules of the selected feature or external service. Amateur-radio callsigns, positions, and packets transmitted through APRS or similar networks may be public by design.

5. Data storage and retention

Some products store information only on your device. Others may use account-based cloud storage or synchronization. We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the feature, legal obligations, security, dispute resolution, and enforcement. Retention periods can vary by product and data type.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information and feature involved. These may include transport encryption, access controls, platform security services, and on-device processing. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

7. Your choices and rights

You may be able to manage data through the app, device settings, account settings, or the service provider used for synchronization. Depending on your location and applicable law, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, or a portable copy of certain personal information.

To make a privacy request, contact us using the information below. We may need to verify your identity and identify the relevant product before completing a request.

8. Children

Our general-audience products are not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required by local law, unless a product specifically states otherwise and provides appropriate protections. If you believe a child has provided personal information contrary to this policy, please contact us.

9. International processing

Service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, we use appropriate contractual or legal safeguards for these transfers.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as products and legal requirements change. The revised policy will show a new last-updated date. Material changes may also be communicated within the affected product or through another appropriate channel.
